We have an ever-growing flock of

American White Pelicans

that return to our little spot on the river every year. They usually hang out on a sandbar near middle of the river. That sandbar is now under water...as our yard might be here pretty soon if the river keeps risin. (Keep your fingers crossed for us...we might hafta be wadin to the house soon.)
They're unbelievably huge but graceful birds.



I've rarely seen 'em this close to our house...they're pretty shy, too...but I assume they're lookin for another, drier place to hang.
